French Tuition for Adults

All levels are taught from beginners wishing to take up a new language to those who are already competent speakers but would like to improve to the next level.

Lessons are taught individually or in mini-groups by one of our experienced French tutors (ideal for emphasis on conversation, meeting others with similar interest in the language and sharing the cost.

All sessions are structured specifically to the individual needs of the client and taught based around topical subjects as well as material oriented to the client's interests.

French for Students - KS3, GCSE, IGCSE and A'Levels
|
French tuition is available to support students studying the GCSE and A' Level syllabus at School or College. Lessons are given either as ongoing syllabus support or intensive short term tutoring to improve on specific problem areas.
Intensive catch-up, revision and exam preparation lessons are also available for students wishing to maximize their exam grades and ideal for boosting confidence before exams. |
Lessons are structured specifically to the individual needs of the student focusing on areas that require improvement and building a solid foundation in both grammar and conversation.
A range of teaching methods are used including audio and visual for conversation and comprehension practice as well as white board and large selection of specialist textbooks and reading media. All lessons are prepared beforehand to ensure that time spent during the lesson is spent effectively. |
Current and past foreign language students are from various schools including Thornden and Toynbee Schools in Chandlers Ford, The Romsey School and The Mountbatten School in Romsey, The Hampshire Collegiate School in West Wellow, The Westgate School in Winchester, King Edwards VI School and St Mary's Independent School in Southampton, Peter Symonds College in Winchester and Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh.

French Tuition for Children

Aimed at providing children in YR5 and YR6 with a foundation in French to prepare them for further learning in secondary school. Taught with a variety of fun interactive games, colourful activity books and audio visual media.
Behind the fun is a serious approach to learning the French language for budding linguists ! |

French Conversation Classes
|
Conversation Classes are perfect for those wanting to practice and improve their spoken language skills. Groups are held in mini groups and revolve around a variety of topical subjects.
These 1 hour sessions are a great way to meet other people interested in the French language |
and insight into the culture that our native French tutors can provide.
Classes are aimed at providing a more casual and light hearted approach to improving both comprehension and spoken language through conversation, discussion and audio visual media. |
Several group times are held to suit your schedule.

Holiday Brush Up

Whether lounging in the sun, or skiiing in the mountains, holidaying in France presents a fulfilling opportunity to practice your French language skills.

We can help to bring that rusty French back up to speed through conversation refresher courses where the focus is concentrated on being able to understand spoken language as well as to communicate effectively in a wide range of every day situations.

French Language Immersion

Total Immersion in a Language is the best way to prepare for lengthy trips abroad whether for Business or Leisure.
This is of particular value for individuals or families planning to relocate to a foreign destination where they expect to converse and communicate effectively as soon as possible upon arrival. As well as the formal French grammar and conversation tuition, there is focus on "real life" street language, - a necessity in order to |
understand others and do more than just "get by" in every day situations.
We can offer a schedule of intense French tuition lessons to suit all levels from beginner to advanced. For families relocating abroad, we also provide the preparation needed for the younger members of the family. Lessons are usually sessions of 2 - 3 hours and held several times per week as required. The duration and times of the lessons are customised around your schedule. |
Help and advice with the cultural aspect of a move abroad is an added bonus to help make the transition both a smooth and thoroughly enjoyable experience.
On a personal note, I have relocated with my husband and children from English to French speaking countries (and vice versa) between the USA, France and UK. I fully appreciate how the best preparation can be of benefit to the family at such an exciting time ! |
French Online Tuition

A convenient way to learn French at a distance whether a full course or a one off or less regular sessions as and when needed.
The teaching quality is equally as high and using the same multi-media teaching methods as would be used in face to face lessons. |

Corporate French Tuition

Individual or Group lessons can usually be arranged on site at your office to cut out unwanted travelling time and cost. During the current pandemic however we are delivering all tuition online via Zoom or Skype. Other media platforms can be arranged upon request.
Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced classes are offered and ideal for companies collaborating with French companies or clients or for staff who frequently travel to France on business. |
Courses are aimed at developing effective communication in the work and corporate environment. Emphasis is on enabling staff to interact and converse in French with ease and in a more professional manner.
Lunch time as well as work time sessions are available. Many companies consider learning a language as a beneficial "extra" to allow colleagues and team members to interact socially outside of their usual work discipline and environment. |
